The Commune of Rome prohibits (justly) whatever publicity in the historical center of the city.

To revolve the prohibition the sponsors of the restaurations they have gotten to be able to be publicized during these jobs.
Result: be mostly visible, the jobs that lasted 6 months can also last 1 year!

Il comune di Roma proibisce (giustamente) qualunque pubblicità nel centro storico della città.

Per aggirare il divieto gli sponsor dei restauri hanno ottenuto di potersi pubblicizzare durante questi lavori.
Risultato: per essere maggiormente visibili, i lavori che duravano 6 mesi possono durare anche 1 anno!

S. Crisogono: the inside - S. Crisogono: l’interno

Today (finally) we enter in the church .The interior was rebuilt in the 1620s on the site of a 12th century church (the 22 granite columns in the nave are recycled from ancient constructions.The floor is “cosmatesque” (12th century), but most of it is hidden by the pews. The baroque ceiling is sculpted with the symbols of the cardinal Borghese.The tabernacle (XII century), preserve the relics of S. Crisogono.

Oggi (finalmente)entriamo nella chiesa .L'interno risale alla ricostruzione del 1620 , sebbene molti elementi risalgano al XII secolo (le 22 colonne sono riciclate da antiche costruzioni). Il pavimento “cosmatesco” (in gran coperto dalle panche) è del XII secolo.Il soffitto barocco è scolpito con i simboli del cardinale Borghese. Il tabernacolo (XII secolo) conserva le reliquie di S. Crisogono.

This beautiful belltower (added in the XII century, when the church was rebuilt), risk to fall in 1600, when the Cardinal Scipione Borghese the forward on the roof. This is the reason of the masonry of the windows in the lower!
Questo bel campanile (aggiunto nel XII secolo, quando la chiesa fu ricostruita), rischiò di cadere nel 1600, quando il cardinale Scipione Borghese lo abbellì sul tetto. Questo è il motivo della muratura delle finestre in basso!
