S. Crisogono: the inside - S. Crisogono: l’interno

Today (finally) we enter in the church .The interior was rebuilt in the 1620s on the site of a 12th century church (the 22 granite columns in the nave are recycled from ancient constructions. The floor is “cosmatesque” (12th century), but most of it is hidden by the pews. The baroque ceiling is sculpted with the symbols of the cardinal Borghese. The tabernacle (XII century), preserve the relics of S. Crisogono.
End of the visit!
..happy weekend.

..felice fine settimana.

gmg: They are photography of this morning, ciao.

Ummm, Nazzareno, the floor detail you've shown is not Cosmatesque; I believe it dates from Scipione Borghese's reconstruction.

The Cosmatesque floor is the part that the man is standing on in your main photo.

Well then take a deep breath... blow it all into a Green Balloon... and wait until Friday afternoon to send it up to the sky, wherever you are on this planet. Millions of Iranians inside Iran are planning to paint the sky green on Friday exactly at 1pm Tehran time. The non-violent green movement is being cracked down on the ground, so lets take it to the sky."
