ARA PACIS

The Ara Pacis (Altar of Peace) was built to celebrate the peace established in the roman empire by the emperor Augustus, after his military campaigns North of the Alps, in Gaul and in Spain, between the years 16 B.C. and 13 B.C. The altar was finished in the year 9 B.C. and was originally located in the Field of Mars, not far south from its current location.

As always in Rome, ancient and modern can live in the same space.
Come sempre a Roma, antico e moderno possono convivere nello stesso spazio.

Bonjour Nazzareno,

@Lucie:
début de la fin: oui,j'espère vraiment de passer le dimanche sur les neiges de le "Gran Sasso"; cette partie de Roma est encore assez habitée (même s'il y a beaucoup de bureaux et magasins);

You have spoiled us with so many gorgeous photos today! I love all of the patterns and shapes in the first couple of photos. That museum reminds me of a section in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. I love those pictures! You really make us want to visit Rome. Enjoy your weekend!!

"Are you mad about what has been happening inside Iran these days? Well then take a deep breath... blow it all into a Green Balloon... and wait until Friday afternoon to send it up to the sky, wherever you are on this planet. Millions of Iranians inside Iran are planning to paint the sky green on Friday exactly at 1pm Tehran time. The non-violent green movement is being cracked down on the ground, so lets take it to the sky."
