This is I. A great space, little illuminated, where to walk. Many beautiful things to conserve with cure (some forgotten) put from part during the years.

Questo sono io.Un grande spazio, poco illuminato, dove camminare. Tante cose belle da conservare con cura (alcune dimenticate) messe da parte durante gli anni .

A release taken to the flight to the escape from the office to hours 15.00. It was from the morning that the cinama set had occupied “Piazza Mastai” and this was one of the first sequences turns!

Uno scatto preso al volo all'uscita dall'ufficio alle ore 15.00. Era dal mattino che il set cinamatografico aveva occupato “Piazza Mastai” e questa era una delle prime sequenze girate!

Autumn on tiver. - Autunno sul tevere.

This idyllic space (and little attended from the Roman) is the bank of tiber that coasts along the Tiberina Island. Between a leaf and the other is possible to see, to right, the hospital “Fairies well siblings” (founded from the friars in 1585), and, on the left, the awakening of one of the beggars who use the place in order to pass the night.



Questo spazio idilliaco (e poco frequentato dai romani) è l'argine del tevere che costeggia l'Isola Tiberina. Tra una foglia e l'altra è possibile vedere, a destra, l'ospedale "Fatebenefratelli" (fondato dai frati nel 1585), e , a sinistra, il risveglio di uno dei mendicanti che usano il luogo per passare la notte.

Who is passed in that moment has been able to choose alone which direction to take. It will have gone straight or it will have followed also he it arrow?

La freccia è destinata alla folla di turisti di S. Pietro, che al momento sono assenti.
Indica dove andare.
Chi è passato in quel momento ha potuto scegliere da solo quale direzione prendere. Sarà andato dritto o avrà seguito anche lui la freccia?

This bridge - Il ponte

This bridge as a border as a road, bring us toward a new winter season.... beautiful or ugly little I care. The main point will be not to even lose a breath of wind of it...

Questo ponte , come un confine, come una strada, ci porta verso una nuova stagione invernale. Che sia bella o brutta m'importa poco. L'importante sarà di non perderne neanche un alito di vento...

Water and mud - Acqua e fango

Acqua e fango che con una forza impressionante trascinano tutto quello che incontrano . Questa è una "piena" e vederla fa veramente paura.

The television spar are a following gift.
I lavori di demolizione dell'area (1940)furono sospesi per il ritrovamento di reperti archeologici molto importanti.
Le antenne televisive sono un regalo successivo.

The sons...shining swords to be launched in the world, our blood's yeast, green branches grasped to the life...


I figli ... spade lucenti da lanciare nel mondo, lievito del nostro sangue, rami verdi avvinghiati alla vita...

Up to 10 years ago this plaza it was famous in all Rome for his market. Only after the move of the market the people have been able to rediscover his gardens (remained hidden from the same market).

Fino a 10 anni fa questa piazza era famoso in tutta Roma per il suo mercato . Solo dopo lo spostamento del mercato la gente ha potuto riscoprire i suoi giardini ( rimasti nascosti dal mercato stesso).






Among his curiosities there is also this mysterious "hands magic", guarded by two Egyptian statues (Bes). The mysterious construction belonged to an alchemist of 1653.

Tra le sue curiosità c’è anche questa misteriosa “porta magica”, sorvegliata da due statue egizie (Bes). La misteriosa villa apparteneva a un alchimista del 1653.

Plaza of the Quirinale - Piazza del Quirinale

The fulcrum of the piazza is the Fountain of the..Dioscuri, so called because of the two great ancient Roman statues, Castor and Pollux, which embellish the fountain.They were found in the Baths of Constantine and the basin of the fountain was brought here from the Roman Forum.
(The obelisk, which used to decorate Augustus' mausoleum, was only placed here with the fountain at a later date).

Il fulcro urbanistico della piazza è la Fontana dei Dioscuri, così chiamata per le due grandi statue di epoca romana ritrovate nelle Terme di Costantino e poste a decorare la vasca, a sua volta proveniente dal Foro Romano.(Solo successivamente fu collocato l'obelisco che, in origine, ornava l'ingresso del Mausoleo di Augusto).





Looking onto the piazza are several noteworthy buildings
This is the “Palazzo della Consulta”, built in the 18th century to house the papal Court of the Consulta. Today it is the seat of the Constitutional Court of Italy.


Sulla piazza affacciano palazzi di grande rilievo, questo è il Palazzo della Consulta costruito nel '700 per ospitare il tribunale della Consulta e oggi sede della Corte Costituzionale.

Via della Lungara II

In the Via della Lungara there is also the beautiful Porta Settimiana (that covered of leaves).In the Middle Ages, the Via Recta left through this gate. It allowed pilgrims who had arrived in Rome from the Tiber river port in Trastevere to reach St. Peter's.

In via della lungara c’è anche la bella Porta Settimiana (quella ricoperta di foglie).
In epoca medievale da questa porta usciva la strada (chiamata Via Recta) che, attraverso i campi, consentiva ai pellegrini giunti via Tevere e sbarcati al porto di raggiungere la basilica di San Pietro.




Via della Lungara became one of the great streets of Rome and the neighborhood became home to the residences of both the lay and ecclesiastical nobility.


Via della Lungara entrò nel novero delle grandi vie romane e nei suoi pressi nacquero le ville suburbane della nobiltà laica ed ecclesiastica.

L’edificio, un vecchio convento del 1645, chiamato “Regina Coeli “ , ha mantenuto il nome anche quando nel 1881 è diventato il più importante carcere della capitale.

Al portone di entrata c’è un gradino, e secondo un vecchio detto : “chi non salisce quello, nun’è romano” .
